It is common belief that technology belongs to the west and not African. Being poor or underdeveloped does not imply absence of technology. This study analyses the unrealized and underutilized potentiality in unhu to develop the African child technologically, intellectually and morally. Ubuntu contains and admits change or motion within itself. Thus, Ubuntu is the capacity to develop and achieve. Therefore, technical skills must be made available and taught to the African child in Zimbabwe who for long has been struggling under the conditions. Unhu advocates that technical advantages and privileges be given to the children. Activity, doing and technology are all contained in unhu and are prerogative or privilege of child. In this essay, I wish to assess the impact of the analytic framework of unhu in the new curriculum in fulfilling the African child’s fundamental natural right and desire to achieve, develop and grow in the dimension of technology. On the basis of findings from sources consulted, it was observed the new curriculum contains the technical skills for the African child in Zimbabwe. The researcher adopts the descriptive philosophical analysis qualitative method as the philosophical methodological stencil in this paper.
